Village Church Golf Tournament

One hospital. One Day. Generations of Healing.

Help us bring care and restoration to women and girls who have been abused by ISIS.

2017 Village Church Golf Tournament

Our annual Village Church Golf Tournament is coming soon!
Save the date: Thursday, August 31 at Northview Golf Course.

The Current Situation

In 2014, ISIS took control of vast areas of Northern Iraq and displaced almost a million people who had to flee their homes. Among them are women and young girls who were kidnapped and forced to be the wives and sexual slaves of ISIS fighters. These girls are now facing diseases and other healthcare problems with nowhere to get medical treatment. And of course, the displaced families and children also have need of general medical care.

The Goal

What: Our goal, in partnership with Love Does, is to provide a hospital for those who have been displaced; a hospital that will be able to give children and families the medical attention that they so desperately need, a hospital that will be able to prioritize help for over 7000 women and young girls who have been rescued.

The goal is to raise $500,000 in just one day through the 2017 Golf Tournament to build and equip this much-needed hospital, and bring restoration and healing to many!

Where: The hospital will be built in Northern Iraq, specifically in the area of Soran. Soran is located about 150 kilometers north-east of Mosul, Iraq. It is a large ethnically Kurdish city of approximately 125,000 people, of which 64% are refugees who returned to Iraq within the last ten years.

When: On August 31, 2017, we'll host our annual golf tournament fundraiser and auction dinner. If the funds are raised, our goal is to break ground this year!

Who is Love Does?

For this project, we’re partnering with Love Does. Love Does is a non-profit organization that does big level compassion initiatives in some of the hardest countries to work in.

They currently have projects in five different countries. We’ll be partnering with them on their newest project in Iraq.

One of the biggest motivators behind the work of Love Does is, not surprisingly, love. When presented with the immense needs and heartbreak of individuals and families who have faced unimaginable tragedies and loss, they feel their only answer is to do more.

Love Does has worked with locals who know the most about the true needs in Iraq, and local leaders who can help guide and assist implementation of effective programs. Love Does has zeroed in on helping the large population of people who have been displaced, by providing emergency supplies and aid, and then focusing their efforts on a school for the children in that population. The next stage is building a hospital to serve the area, and we’ll be partnering with them on this as we raise the funds at our 2017 Golf Tournament. Let’s work together to make a difference.
