A Panel on Human Trafficking
Village Church has committed to supporting organizations helping in the prevention, rescue, and aftercare of women and children who have been trafficked. In a continuation of the conversation we began in the fall, we are hosting a live panel on Wednesday, February 3rd to hear from Philip Calvert, Randy Watson, Larissa Maxwell, and Camila Jimenez who are working with global and local organizations in the fight against human trafficking and sexual exploitation. We’ll explore:
- A basic understanding of what human trafficking is and what it looks like both locally and globally.
- The interconnection between human trafficking locally and globally – from sexual exploitation, to the supply chain, our experts will share how decisions locally have a global impact.
- Successes of what’s been done in the past year around some of the major perpetrators of online exploitation.
- The nature of youth and exploitation and how we can protect youth from trafficking and exploitation.
- Practical ways you can be involved in the prevention and advocacy of human trafficking and sexual exploitation.
The evening will end with a time of live Q & A with our panel.
