Serving Opportunities
Village Church operates on the commitment of incredible teams who serve Jesus and each other by using their time, energy, and gifts to make church happen. It’s our hope that everyone who calls Village home would serve in at least one area of ministry to grow in their relationship with Jesus and connect with other people in our community. Below are descriptions of each of the areas that you can serve in, so fill out any form you’d like and let us know where and when you’d like to get involved. Whatever interests and strengths you have, you can use them to contribute to what’s happening in our community.
Village Kids
Village Kids teams are an essential part of the life of Village Church because many families have made this community their home. So, if you have a gift for leading children and teaching them about Jesus, our nursery to grade 5 classes can use your help. And even if you don’t consider yourself “a kid person”, there are lots of areas that you can serve in at Village Kids, such as greeting families, assisting with checking in, setting up rooms and Village Kids Worship.
Guest Services
Guest Services include hospitality, house management, and transformation. If you want to help make sure guests have the best experience possible on Sundays at Village Church, Guest Services is for you! Click the link below to learn more about the many different roles available.
Prayer
Prayer Team members serve God and others by creating a safe space for people to receive prayer. It is an honour to be able to come alongside people as a form of discipleship and show love by caring for them and helping them connect with God in their circumstances. You will have the opportunity to share the gospel and guide people in prayer for salvation! If you have a passion for serving people through prayer, then this team is for you.
Youth
Village Youth volunteers help lead and grow our vibrant student ministry which is all about seeing teens and pre-teens transformed into fully devoted followers of Jesus. If you love spending time with middle and high school youth, then you’ll love serving in this ministry.
Production
Production team members work behind the scenes to make sure that all service related sound and visual equipment are unloaded, set up, and operated at each gathering. They also help pack up equipment at the end of each gathering. If you’re a tech-savvy kind of person who’s interested in audio mixing, light tech, or production setup/teardown, this is the ministry to join. No extensive experience necessary, just willing hearts needed.
Freedom Session
Serving as a Freedom Session Facilitator or Assistant is an honor and one of the most dynamic, challenging, rewarding and transformational ministry experiences offered at Village Church. Those who join our team will experience God using them to disciple others, restore brokenness, put marriages back together and give people a vision for their lives. You will have a front-row seat to watch God perform miracles!
Alpha Course
Alpha is an opportunity to explore and discuss big questions about life and faith in a casual setting over 7 weeks. Did you know you can start your own Alpha group with people in your life? What could be more exciting than to walk alongside your friends, family or co-workers as you both explore the bigger questions about life and the Christian faith?
City Impact
We desire to see the city of Surrey transformed by Jesus, and we do this by pursuing justice and empowerment for our neighbour. All of our projects are done by joining key organizations that are doing incredible work of meeting real needs in our communities. We believe strong partnerships allow us to have the greatest local impact. Join us!
