I want to volunteer, but my kids aren’t old enough to camp. Will there be childcare available?
If your child is not old enough to attend Village Kids Camp but you would like to volunteer, we’ve got you covered! We will have a childcare room available on-site all week long for the young children of volunteers. The childcare registration is included in the volunteer registration form. Space is limited, so please fill out the volunteer registration ASAP to ensure your child will get a spot.

Regular May 6 – June 2, $95 (for church attendees)
Non-Church attendees will be offered a registration cost of $85 at any time as long as they register before June 2.
*Note: Space at camp is limited. If a waitlist is necessary, those who do not attend a local church will be given priority.
What if I can’t afford to send my child to camp?
We don’t want costs to hinder any family, so we have some sponsorship funds available upon request. If this is you or someone you know, please access our “Campership” application form HERE. Once done, we will review your application and follow up with you regarding the next steps.
How can I help send kids to camp?
If you want to help a child attend camp this year, you can donate to our camp sponsorship fund online HERE. Please note that tax receipts are NOT available for this donation.
I have questions or would like to provide a gift/service to camp; who can I talk to?
If you have any questions or would like to speak with a staff member about camp, our Director of Family Ministries and Village Kids Camp Project Lead, Jesse Criss, would be happy to help you.
Serving with us at Camp!
We want to invite you to be a part of the Village Kids Summer Camp experience! Village Kids Summer Camp is for kids going into Grades 1-5 in the Fall.
We know the kids are going to love it, but our amazing leaders showing up is what makes it truly memorable for children and families! Relationships built at summer camp are what the kids remember long after the slip-and-slide is packed up and the dance parties are over. Online Volunteer Registration opens on April 6.
We want YOU to be a part of our team! Join us as we point kids to Jesus by building relationships and making memories at camp. This team will make “Adventure Awaits: The Next Chapter” come alive! We are looking for 100 volunteers to serve with us as we hope to host 200+ kids in our community. Let’s do this together!
Who can volunteer: People who have a passion for Jesus and for fun! We welcome volunteers, starting with students who are going into Grade 6 and going all the way up to grandparents. There are a variety of roles to suit different giftings and interests – Village Kids Camp has a place for you! Every adult (18+) will need to complete a Criminal Record Check or have one on file with Village Church, and all volunteers will need to complete a Summer Camp Plan to Protect through the online workshop and attend our Summer Camp Training Night. Please check out the details below!
Training Night: June 25, 6:30-8:30pm: This is a mandatory training night for all volunteers. It’s a chance to see the space before camp starts, review some critical information, and pray for our campers.
Camp Week July 7-11: Camp runs Monday to Friday from 1:00 – 4:00pm daily. We are asking that all volunteers be onsite by 12:15pm and be prepared to remain onsite until 4:30pm, depending on your role.
Additional Information:
Childcare: If your child is not old enough to attend Village Kids Camp but you would like to volunteer, we’ve got you covered! We will have a childcare room available on-site all week long for the younger children of those volunteering with us. Please note childcare is reserved for preschool-aged children (2-5 years old, must be toilet trained). The childcare registration is included in the volunteer registration form. Space is limited, so please fill out the volunteer registration, including childcare sections, ASAP to ensure your child will get a spot. Childcare will start at 11:45am daily during the week of camp.
Early Drop-Off: We will be hosting an Early Drop-Off space for volunteers who have campers coming with them to camp. This will be a space for campers to play games, do some arts and crafts, and have a snack while volunteers join team huddles and get ready for the day. When camper registration opens for the day, our team will bring kids who have been dropped off early to the Main Stage for Adventure Awaits Pre-Show. Early Drop-off will start at 11:45am daily during the week of camp.
Junior Leaders: Junior Leaders are students going into Grades 6-12 (<18). As a Junior Leader, you will be under the leadership of the Village Youth staff, who will help prepare you for each day and be your point person if you have any questions. Junior Leaders can help an adult lead a group of campers, offer 1:1 support to an individual camper in your group, or help with Daily Adventures and Games. Junior Leaders are an essential part of making summer camp happen, and the younger kids often look up to our Junior Leaders! There are lots of options for where you can serve! When you apply to serve, please look for areas with a Jr. Leader Option listed.
Volunteers can sign up for the following roles and areas of responsibility at camp. One of the best parts of volunteering at camp is that everyone plays a part on the team. On your application form, you will be asked to choose your top serving areas of interest. Once you have applied, we will reach out to you and confirm your volunteer placement. Some areas will need lots of volunteers, while others will need just a few. We hope that you can be flexible while we work with you to get you into a spot you will love!
Group Leader (Jr. Leader Option)
As a part of the Group Leaders Team, you will be assigned a group of 10 kids for the week of camp. As groups rotate through the daily schedule, you will have the opportunity to build relationships with your group members. As group leaders, you will not be responsible for teaching or running the activities at any station. Your role is to guide the kids in your group and support the station leaders. However, you will have a significant role in leading your kids through the Small Group station. But don’t worry, you will be given the content for small group discussions so you can prepare for it before camp starts.
Special Note: Group Leaders will need to be 18+ years old. Younger volunteers in Grades 6-12 are considered Jr. Leaders and will assist the adult group leader. There will be at least 1 Adult and 1 Jr. Leader with each group of 10 kids.
Buddies Team: 1-on-1 Support (Jr. Leader Option)
As a part of the Buddies Team, you will be assigned to one specific child in a group for the duration of camp. A one-to-one buddy will help maximize a child’s camp experience by assisting the child in areas outlined by the parent or guardian of the child. This may include assisting in things like physical fine/gross motor tasks during creation station, games, or playground time, preparing the child for the transition to another activity, or offering the child a “cool down” break in the space we have created to support this specific purpose! All kids are welcome at camp, and we know that all kids respond and interact differently. Camp is an excellent opportunity for all children to hear about Jesus in a way that works well for them!
Games Team (Jr. Leader Option)
Members of our games team have LOTS of energy and enthusiasm for camp. They are willing to get a little messy (think outdoor games in all weather!) to create a space where some of the most fun memories of camp will be made! You and your team will learn the rules of each game, help prepare the game station, and direct groups of kids through fun and active games every day! Some kids need a little more encouragement to participate in the game station, so be prepared to bring your loudest cheering voice and encourage everyone who shows up at your station!
Daily Adventure Team (Jr. Leader Option)
If you are part of the Daily Adventure Team, you will be working with a pod of campers over three rotations each day. You will help campers understand and participate in the activities as you build excitement around the different activities every day! These activities could be team-building moments, like building boats, or a fun competition, like the Amazing Race. The goal is to get a Camper Group to work together, have fun, and be creative! If you love having fun, doing different things every day, and are passionate about helping others discover something new, this team is for you!
Childcare / Early Drop Off Team: (Jr. Leader Option - Grades 10-12 Only)
As a part of the Childcare Team, you will be helping other volunteers fill roles at camp as you care for their younger child(ren) during the camp day. The Childcare Team will look after kids who are not old enough to be campers yet (ages 2-5) on-site. While these kids will not be a part of the regular camp schedule with the older kids, they will attend the Main Stage Sessions. Child Care volunteers will keep the kids busy throughout the camp day by providing toys, games, crafts, activities, music, and teaching times for kids to engage in. Please make a note on your form if you would like to be involved in teaching the story during the Child Care program.
First Aid Team
We love our kids, and their safety is our first priority! Our team of 3-4 Nursing/First Aid volunteers are stationed in one of 2 First Aid stations at camp. You and your partner will respond to the needs at your station as needed. All first aid volunteers carry walkie-talkies, and training will be provided on the procedure and protocol for first aid at camp.
Special Note: To be on this team, you must be a Registered Nurse or hold a valid First Aid Certification.
Parking Team (Jr. Leader Option)
As a part of the Parking Team, you should be prepared to proudly wear your orange safety vest and diligently navigate carloads of eager campers to the closest free parking spot available. You will be helping families safely park in the parking lot on-site and find their way to the entrance. The Parking Team has the opportunity to make a great first impression on parents and campers arriving at camp! You help make drop-off and pick-up at camp a smooth experience for families.
Kitchen Team(Jr. Leader Option)
Those who choose to be a part of the Kitchen Team should expect to have loads of fun together! You’ll be busy preparing drinks and snacks to welcome volunteers when they arrive in the morning, as well as preparing and delivering snacks to the campers during their snack time. This team is one of the most appreciated by our campers, as the snacks keep them happy and healthy throughout the day! Once snacks have been delivered to each group, the kitchen will be cleaned up, and some preparation for the next day can be completed as needed!
Registration Team
The Registration Team will be responsible for checking in every camper, assisting with connecting campers to their group leaders in the morning, and connecting campers with their parents when they are picked up. Safety and security are important to us, so every child must be checked into a secure location daily, as each parent is given a security code to pick up their child at the end of the day. The Registration Team will provide parents with all necessary information to check campers in and out of their groups securely.
Greeting Team
If you are part of the Greeting Team, you get the joy of being one of the first people to welcome families each morning, and we want to make a great first impression! We love our community and want them to feel cared for at camp! We are looking for two shifts of greeters each day. One team will welcome families when campers arrive each morning, and the other team will offer families a warm goodbye as they are heading home. The Greeting Team should be prepared to welcome families, help them find their way around the building, and bring them to the Help Table for any further questions that might come up. Greeters are friendly, outgoing, and engaging.
Volunteer Room Team
If you are part of the Volunteer Room Team, you will be helping care for the 100+ volunteers who are supporting summer camp in different roles. We want to take care of and support our people well! The volunteer Room is a space where volunteers can gather, get refreshments, and rally throughout the afternoon. If you are passionate about celebrating people and providing top-notch hospitality, this is the team for you!
Specialized Volunteer Roles: The following are some specific roles and teams that may include one-off moments during camp, such as setup/teardown or individual needs we are looking for just one or two people to fill.
Help Desk - Registrar
Someone who can support our Help Desk for the whole week of camp. Your primary role would be to support parents with registration questions, camper group movement, and special requests like early pick-up, etc.
Actions Team (Jr. Leader Option)
Each year, we like to have 4-6 Jr. Leaders join us on stage to help teach kids the actions to songs during our main/closing sessions. This team will have some additional practice requirements. You can be part of this team and still take on a secondary role during the week of camp if you’d like.
Security Team
There are 100+ volunteers and staff around camp, and we care a lot about the safety of those people! We would like to see a few people offering security around the site this year. If you like walking, have a big smile, are willing to get wet on the game field, and care deeply about keeping people safe, this is a role for you.
Room/Hallway Decor Crew
During setup and throughout the week, there is room and hallway decor that needs to be set up and maintained/updated along the way. We are looking for 2-3 people who might want to take on this project and support the exciting environment of kids camp.
Set up Crew (July 5)
Stay for a few hours or help out all day. We will be clearing classrooms, unloading our supply truck, hanging signs, setting up the auditorium seating and decor, preparing the first aid room, preparing our Small Group and teaching areas, cleaning, organizing the kitchen, and more! It’s a lot of fun to work shoulder-to-shoulder with a group of volunteers and staff as we anticipate how all of the kids will experience this space at camp!
Tear Down Crew (July 11)
Summer Camp will be over, but the work and the fun don’t stop there! Come out and help us pack up our supplies and return the building to its original state. It’s a joy to hear and share stories about all the amazing things we saw happen in these spaces as we clean them up. Join us as we finish this project well!
Production Team Support
We are looking for 1-2 people to help with lighting, slides, and audio for the Main Stage during the daily opening and closing sessions. If you have a passion for AV but don’t want to chase kids around all day, this is a great team to join.
Media Team
We are looking for a few dedicated photographers and videographers who can come to camp on some or all of the days to help us capture the fun and excitement of a week of camp, as well as capture content for the daily recap videos.
