On November 25, over 700 women were challenged with what it means to be a woman in the world, in our church, in our community, in our families, and ultimately where to root our identities.
It was confirmed with speaker after speaker that when we live out the statement “I am a woman who loves Jesus,” that kind of woman has an anthem to sing boldly.
As one of our presenters, Erin Clark said, “This isn’t about building a good 80 years, but about building a good eternity – influencing our kids, neighbours, husbands to glorify God not because of our gender, but because of our mission.”
We were reminded to live out what God created us to be.
We were invited to be women who love Jesus passionately, who serve our church, who leave a legacy in our families, women who build community and women who are positioned to impact the world. Not “perfect” women who fit into one specific box, but women who get our strength from Jesus and live out his plan for our lives with passion and joy.
We were challenged to be women who know to our core, that the foundation of our identity is in the sacrifice and resurrection of our Saviour Jesus.
Our intention is that Village Women would have great impact igniting other women to lean into God, not just women at Village Church, but the whole church body – city wide, nation wide, and internationally.
We are eager for God to do big things. We believe in the powerful name of a resurrected Jesus!
We look forward to doing more conferences and retreats, and right now we have many ways to be connected with Village Women, including community groups, gatherings for Moms, and classes where women study the Bible together.
