Langley South
City Impact
We desire to see our local city transformed by Jesus. This is through the intentional scattering and mobilizing of his church to see justice and empowerment advanced in our communities and around the world.
Christmas Initiatives
Clothing Drive
On Sundays, November 26 and December 3, we are collecting much-needed fall and winter clothes for the men in Joshua House’s recovery program and the youth at HD Stafford Middle School. Whether you’re clearing your closet or want to add a few items to your Christmas shopping, the items we are collecting are:
- Used and new men’s sneakers and boots for Joshua House. All sizes are welcome, but 10-12 are especially needed. Men’s clothing is also welcome: T-shirts, inexpensive hoodies, sweat pants, jeans, coats, toques, and gloves.
- Used and new boys’ and girls’ youth winter coats and boots for HD Stafford. Sizes to fit ages 11-14.
Bring your items to church on those Sundays, and we’ll have a bin for you to put them in!
HD Stafford Christmas Hampers
For Christmas, we have the opportunity to further what we do with Stafford throughout the year by supporting families identified by the school as needing extra support with a hamper for the holidays. Each year families and community groups take on one of these families. This year, we have 15 families to support.
Local Partner Volunteer Opportunities
HD Stafford
The adopt-a-school program creates opportunities to work alongside schools identified by the School District as Inner-City and highlights the needs and risks of students. HD Stafford is our adopted school, and we regularly serve lunches to 95-90 students, plus events throughout the year for people to serve and love these students and their families.
Wagner Hills
Wagner Hills provides rehabilitation to men and women in addiction at two different facilities, offering long-term care, spiritual and vocational training.
Foster Family Care
Throughout the province of BC, there are over 7000 kids in foster care, with over 1000 kids waiting for temporary homes. Fostering is a beautiful way to provide a safe and loving home to kids and teens who are coming from very difficult circumstances. We believe foster families remain healthy when provided with a strong support network behind them.
We currently support eight foster families who have chosen to provide a safe and loving home for kids and teens who are coming from very difficult circumstances. We are always looking for individuals, groups, and families, to support these foster families in tangible ways so that they have a strong support network behind them. Click to sign-up below to see the available opportunities. If you are a family that is fostering, we invite you to fill out the form as well so that we can connect with you!
City Care Dental
City Care Dental is an initiative of City Dream Centre. They operate a fully functioning mobile dental bus to serve with licensed dentists, hygienists, dental assistants and supervised dental students, who partner to offer a full range of dental care for the kids of our adopted schools. If you are a dental professional, we’d love to have you a part of our next event.
Raphael Family Support Centre
The Raphael Family Support Centre is dedicated to connecting and supporting families who are experiencing hardship. Their vision is a local centre where families experiencing hardship can be supported. Initially providing everyday necessities like food, personal care and baby products and eventually expanding into other support areas. There are volunteer opportunities in the food bank and special initiatives.
