Serving Opportunities

Village Church operates on the commitment of incredible teams who serve Jesus and each other by using their time, energy, and gifts to make church happen. It’s our hope that everyone who calls Village home would serve in at least one area of ministry to grow in their relationship with Jesus and connect with other people in our community. Below are descriptions of each of the areas that you can serve in, so fill out any form you’d like and let us know where and when you’d like to get involved. Whatever interests and strengths you have, you can use them to contribute to what’s happening in our community.

Village Kids

Village Kids teams are an essential part of the life of Village Church because so many families have made this community their home. So, if you have a gift for leading children and teaching them about Jesus, our nursery to grade 5 classes can use your help. And even if you don’t consider yourself “a kid person”, there are lots of areas that you can serve in at Village Kids, such as greeting families, assisting with checking in, setting up rooms, Village Kids Worship, and Village Kids Production.

Guest Services

Guest service volunteers welcome people at Sunday gatherings, help them find their way, and provide the information they need to get connected and involved at Village Church. If you’re a people person, helping with greeting, mingling, coffee and tea serving, connect desk, and ushering, serving in this ministry is a great idea.

Prayer

Prayer Team members serve God and others by creating a safe space for people to receive prayer. It is an honour to be able to come alongside people as a form of discipleship and show love by caring for them and helping them connect with God in their circumstances. You will have the opportunity to share the gospel and guide people in prayer for salvation! If you have a passion for serving people through prayer, then this team is for you.

Youth and Young Adults

Village Youth and Young Adult volunteers help lead and grow our vibrant student ministries that are all about seeing young adults, teens and pre-teens transformed into fully devoted followers of Jesus. If you love spending time with middle and high school youth, or young adults, then you’ll love serving in this ministry. Every week, our youth meet on Monday evenings. Our young adults meet once a month on a Friday evening. Pick one, and get involved.

Community Groups

Community Group leaders and hosts are people who want to build relationships and tell people about Jesus. They’re passionate about encouraging, equipping, and empowering others to be on mission and are all about opening their home to other group members and leading discussions about the curriculum sent out to leaders every week. If you’re a people person who loves to lead or host tight-knit and gospel-focused groups of people doing life together, you’ll love serving in this capacity.

Lead/host a Group

Production

Production team members work behind the scenes to make sure that all service related sound and visual equipment are unloaded, set up, and operated at each gathering. They also help pack up equipment at the end of each gathering. If you’re a tech-savvy kind of the person who’s interested in audio mixing, camera operating, live video editing, stage tech, light tech, or production setup/teardown, this is the ministry to join. No extensive experience necessary, just willing hearts needed.

Music

Worship Arts volunteers are musician and artists who are passionate about using their time and talents to glorify Jesus through creativity. If you’re a vocalist, instrumentalist, choir singer, or are interested in serving as a part of Village Kids Worship, then you’ll want to get involved in this ministry.
