We don’t want cost to be a hindrance for any family, and some “campership” funds are available upon request. If this is you, or someone you know, please access our Campership Application form below.

Stay tuned for fun updates like camp themes, dress-up days, and all the details as we get closer to camp. In the meantime, if you want to talk with anyone about camp, please email us here so we can connect.

  • Kids Grade 6-12 can participate in the Junior Leader program led by the Village Church Youth Staff. Sign-up is through the volunteer registration.
  • Space at camp is limited and those who do not attend a local church will be given priority if a waitlist is needed.

Volunteer at Summer Camp

We want to invite you to be a part of the Village Kids Summer Camp experience!

We know the kids are going to love it, but having you there is what will make it memorable for them. It’s the relationships made that the kids will remember long after the slip-and-slide and dance parties are done. Volunteer Registration is open!

Be a part of a team that’s building relationships and making memories with kids in a way that points them to Jesus. Let’s be there for the kids of our community! Join our team to help make camp come alive! We are looking for 90 volunteers as we hope to host 200 kids. Let’s do this!

Who can volunteer: People who have a passion for Jesus and for fun! We welcome volunteers who are going into Grade 6 to grandpas and grandmas. There are a variety of roles to suit different giftings and interests.

*Kids Grades 6-12 will be a part of the Junior Leader program and be led throughout the week by the Village Church Youth Staff.

Childcare: If your child is preschool age (2-5 years old, must be toilet trained) and isn’t old enough for camp, but you want to volunteer, we’ve got you covered! We will have a Childcare on-site for the younger children of volunteers. Space is limited and first come, first serve, so sign up to volunteer in order to get the opportunity to sign your child up for Childcare.

Volunteer Opportunities

Sign up to volunteer with a friend, child or spouse and double the fun! We want to reach the surrounding community and need you to make it happen.

Junior Leader

You qualify to be a Junior Leader if you are going into Grades 6-12. As a Junior Leader, you will be under the leadership of the Village Youth staff, who will rally you and get you to your spot each day. You could help an adult lead a camper group, be a 1:1 buddy to a camper, help with the creation stations, or games. There are lots of options. You are an important part of making camp happen. The younger kids look up to you, and obviously, you’re way more cool than the adults.

Group Leader

A Group Leader (18 years and up) and a helper (Gr. 6-12) will be assigned to a group of 10 kids for the week of camp. They will develop a relationship with the kids as they rotate through different activities: worship, teaching, small groups, games and more.

The Leaders are not responsible for teaching or running the activities at any station, but their role is rather to direct and guide the kids, and support the Leader of that area.

Leaders will be provided with instructions on how to run a small group time each day – to slow down and connect with their kids, and process the teaching content and the day at large. This can be a really special time.

Leaders help create a great camp experience for their group by keeping them organized, safe and, most importantly, having fun! The Grade 1 age group of kids is great because so much of camp is a new experience for them, and they are so excited. But the older kids are a bit more confident and ready to go all in!

Camper Assistant or “Buddy”

A 1:1 Camper Assistant, or “Buddy”, will be assigned to a specific child for the duration of camp. They will help maximize the child’s camp experience by providing assistance to the child in areas outlined by the parent or guardian of the child. This may include assisting in things like physical fine/gross motor tasks during creation station, games or playground time, preparing the child for transitioning to another activity, or taking the child for a “cool down” / “chill out” break time in the cool space we will have created just for this purpose! All kids are welcome at camp, and all of them respond and interact differently. Let’s make it a great opportunity for all of them to hear about Jesus in whatever way that works for them best!

Childcare Volunteer

In order for some people to be able to volunteer at camp, they need a place for their younger child/children to be cared for. The Childcare volunteers will look after kids ages 2-5 (who are too young to be at camp) on site at camp. While these kids will not be incorporated into the camp schedule with the older kids, the volunteers will keep the kids busy throughout the camp day with provided toys, games, crafts, activities, music and teaching times.

Nursing/First Aid Team

In order to be on this team, you need to be a registered nurse or first aid certified. If you volunteer to be part of the Nursing/First Aid team, you will be part of a team with about 3 others. Nursing/First Aid volunteers are stationed in one of 2 first aid stations at camp. You and your partner will respond to the needs at your station. All first aid volunteers carry walkie-talkies, and training will be provided on the procedure and protocol for first aid at camp. Safety first! We love our kids.

Games Team

This is where some of the most fun memories of camp will be made! To be part of this team, you should have lots of energy, and be willing to get a little messy (think outdoor games, in all weather!) You and your team will help prepare the games station and direct groups of kids through active, creative games every day. Some kids will need a little more encouragement in participating, so be prepared to bring your loudest cheering voice!

Parking Team

If you are part of the Parking Team, you should be prepared to proudly wear your orange safety vest and diligently navigate carloads of eager campers to the closest free parking spot available. You will be helping families safely park in the site parking lot and find their way to the entrance. The parking team makes the first impression on those coming to camp and often sets a parent’s mood too. You help make for a smooth afternoon. You’re important!

Kitchen Team

If you are part of the Kitchen Team, you should expect to have lots of fun. You’ll be busy prepping drinks and snacks to welcome the volunteers when they arrive, and then you will move on to not only preparing simple snacks with the team but also delivering them to the kids during their snack time. Once the daily snacks are delivered to each group, the kitchen is cleaned up and prepped for the next day! Kids and Volunteers love snack time!

Check-In and Check-Out

This team is responsible for the pass-off of the campers when parents drop them off and when they pick them up. Safety and security are important to us, so every child is officially checked into a set location, and each parent is given a security code to use to pick up their child at the end of the day. The Check-In and Check-Out team will provide all that is needed to securely check the campers in and out of their groups.

Greeting Team

Greeters are one of the first people to make an impression on families each day, and we want to make a great first impression! We love our community and want them to feel welcome and cared for at camp! We need two shifts of greeters each day. One for when kids are arriving and one for when they are heading home. You should be prepared to welcome people, help them find their way and take them to the Help Table for any larger questions they may have. Greeters should be friendly, outgoing, and engaging.

Set up Crew | Saturday, July 6

Come for a few hours or come all day. We will be clearing classrooms, unloading our supply truck, hanging signs, setting up the auditorium seating and décor, prepping the first aid room, prepping our Small Group and teaching areas, cleaning, organizing the kitchen, etc.! It’s a lot of fun to work shoulder-to-shoulder and anticipate how all of the kids will experience the space and this amazing camp. Come on out and help us get ready!

Tear Down Crew | July 12

Well, the party will be over, but the work and the fun won’t end. Come out and help us pack up all of our supplies and return the building to its original state. It’s fun to tell stories about all the cool things we saw happen in all of the spaces as we clean up. Join us and help us finish well!
