Alberta Wildfire Relief

With the ongoing wildfires in Fort McMurray and the surrounding areas, we, as a church, want to help support the relief efforts for the people affected.

Village Church is affiliated with The Fellowship of Evangelical Baptist Churches in Canada (www.fellowship.ca). The Fellowship is made up of about 500 voluntarily associated churches located throughout Canada. Two of those churches are within the wildfire zone. The Fellowship has organized aid for those churches to be able to work in the community to help bring relief and comfort to their congregations and the rest of the community.

Village Church has given $20,000 from our local missions budget to the Fellowship-coordinated effort. This relief money is planned for in our general budget so that we can react quickly to emergency events like these. Thank you for your continued regular giving! This is one of the many ways that money gets used.

Please be in prayer for those impacted by these destructive fires. Pray that God will provide comfort and peace. Pray for the safety of firefighters and those supporting them. Pray for the churches in the area that will come alongside those in the community to assist in relief efforts.
