Freedom Session Graduation

The 2nd Village Church Freedom Session just came to a close. Last Tuesday night we had a great celebration of all the work the participants have put in over the last 28 weeks of the program.

The event saw 108 people receive their graduation certificate indicating that they completed all 12 steps of the Freedom Session program. The night focused on the work that God has been doing in the lives of the graduates.

Many of the graduates shared their two-minute testimonies describing where they were when they began Freedom Session last September, the healing they experienced through the program, and how that will impact them going forward. Some of the stories included God helping people overcome depression, pornography addiction, drug use, marriage difficulties, and more. Several of the graduates noted the power of the session where they were asked to write down the labels life has put on them and give them to Jesus. God was and is glorified by the transformation that occurred.

One of my favourite aspects of the Freedom Session graduation is how people can authentically share who they are, where they have been, what God has done in their life, and how powerful Jesus is in all of it. That’s how church should be–us coming as we are and being transformed into who God calls us to be. I look forward to seeing who God brings forward for the next round of Freedom Session in the fall!

We will open registration for the September 2016 Freedom Session at the end of July. If you’re interested in participating in the next session, click here to learn more about Freedom Session and check back to sign up in July.
